Tess is a eighteen year old from New Jersey. She got her GED and graduated high school when she turned sixteen, took one semester of college courses, and then set off to pursue By Tess full time. Along with an abundant collection of crafting activities, Tess enjoys traveling, exercising, playing games, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog Oscar. 

The Story

I believe it is the mission of every person to create something. Perhaps you create physical things, like buildings or paintings, or create serenity and beauty in the melodies you write, or create memories with the people you care about. Perhaps you simply create joy by smiling at a stranger or giving a compliment. 

I have been creating as much as I could since as long as I remember.

A few years ago I decided I had the skills I needed to begin sharing my creations

Finally I decided that I couldn’t choose just one. That’s when I figured out that all of those things that had felt so random and unconnected had one thing in common. Me!

I created By Tess as a way to brand my creations without separating them. By Tess isn’t a jewelry store, a bakery, a ceramic shop, or a clothing brand. Rather, it is an open opportunity to allow myself to share with the world whatever my passion is at this point in my life, without any preconceived notions or labels of what I am expected to sell.

I strive to generate items that are of as high quality as they are beautiful. Because each piece is handmade, they are 100% unique and original.

I can’t wait for you to see what I am doing now, and am excited to continue to discover new art forms to add to the By Tess collection!
